Lagoon & Nature Center in Carlsbad - Was a Beautiful Hike!
The 400-acre Agua Hedionda Lagoon is one of the threatened coastal wetlands on the Southern California coastline. Draining 135,000 acres in the heart of the burgeoning metropolitan area of San Diego’s north county, the Lagoon watershed is a sensitive and vital ecosystem. It is home to juvenile fish, crabs, hundreds of species of marine life and waterfowl, including an array of threatened and endangered species. It is also provides a much needed respite for migrating birds.
EVERYONE: This will include a hike and a museum tour with a docent. Bring comfortable shoes, water, and a snack.

Disc Golfing - We had Fun with Frisbees!
Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc, or Frisbee. As a player progresses down the fairway, s/he must make each consecutive shot from the spot where the previous throw has landed. The trees, shrubs, and terrain changes located in and around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Finally, the "putt" lands in the basket and the hole is completed. Because disc golf is so easy to learn, no one is excluded and we can all join in. Players merely match their pace to their capabilities, and proceed from there.
EVERYONE: Have fun, enjoy the course and your playing partners. Good karma = good disc golf. Wear shoes appropriate for light hiking or trail running.

9th Annual San Marcos VIBE - SUCCESS!

Chaperone/help the children as they take part in: UNITED WE PAINT…revitalizing a San Marcos neighborhood—like the show Extreme Makeover but on a neighborhood.
The City of San Marcos and United We Paint continue our tradition of providing home makeovers for those in need as part of an annual community outreach project called VIBE.. San Marcos VIBE program revitalizes a series of homes in a San Marcos neighborhood. Painting is the primary emphasis with additional landscaping projects.
San Marcos VIBE provides all volunteers with a breakfast snack, beverages, lunch, music, volunteer certificate and pictures. Similar VIBE events in have attracted 450 volunteers in one day.
You are invited to participate in the 9th annual San Marcos VIBE on Saturday, October 22nd from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

DRIVERS: No driving necessary- just meet us there!
